playstation wont power on

ive tried to power it on with and without a mod chip. no luck =-/. the eject/reset buttons wont light up. i really want my ps2 to work, but im not that good with stuff so just saying "check your fuses" will not help me... anyways help would be much appreciated. I can take pics of the motherboard if their needed..

I presume you have tried to mod it and now it doesnt work, is this correct

what was the situation involved when it didnt power up? was it on and you had a power surge? did you drop it, or someone else did? need some more info on this one.

its a v7. and yeah it worked before i opened it up... but now it wont power up. nothing like dropping or power surge. if i get a power tester thing and put it near where the power plug is, i get a light meaning it is working. maybe it could b eon the eject/reset side, cuz that ribbon is pretty beat up.

well i am not sure how far into the ps2 you went but you may have accidently pulled the eject cable out of place and need to reconnect it.

or like you said the cable finally gave out if it is beat up bad enough.

if that ribbon is stuffed you wont get any lights, thats for sure

i went all the way in to the motherboard, and have gotten used to putting it together and taking it apart

check the other cables that coonect to the side of the board. and check to see if you plug the power into the proper place. it may seem funny but i forgot one time.
