I normally cover all my consoles in cloth whenever they are not in use. Last night i did so ... only problem was i forgot to turn the PS2 (v14) off first!!

So basically it was running the PS2 "dashboard" for 7/8 hours (no disc) with %0 airflow

I have read in these forums more then a few times that the PS2 will shut down if it gets to hot. I have never witnessed this so i don't know if its true. When i uncovered it i touched the top of the case that is above the internal fan and it didn't feel much hotter then it does with normal use.

So i guess what i want to know is .. does the fact the it still works mean that i didn't **** it up!? :P

why do so many people put cloths over there systems? i had a friends that put a peice of foam in between his gba sp when he closed it and then wraped it in a cloth.

if your pretecting it from dust it more then likely would be worse to put a cloth on it because the cloth has lot of dust and lint on it that go into the ps2

if it still works then no problem - you probably only reduced the life of the ps2 by a few hours

    Heh .. Thats what i thought kl1k

..and i put cloth on ALL my consoles because it prevents dust from settling on them (some i don't use for months at a time) and the surrounding area (which would get sucked into the console by the fan). I Keep the cloths clean so no worries.

Plus it protects against scratches from random kittys, doggies and girls!

You can see a lil dust in the line off the case in the PS2 because of the flash but i like to keep my shit as mint as possible
