    hello, i was wondering if its ok to hotglue the modchip on top of one those black pads on the motherboard? seen a couple of pros in this forum do it. im afraid i won't have enough wires if i follow the instruction in the manual.

    Your gonna make more work and problems if you worry about cutting corners. Buy some more wire I got 1000ft of Kynar wire for £13.

    Place the chip on the board in a location where it is not gonna interfear with other components.

    Another tip some double sided tape or double sided sticky pads are much better than hot glue IMO. Much easeir to work with, cleaner, and easy to remove.

    -I never worked on a ps2 modding, but i do know hot glue in my opionion is a nono, i know this because its a pain in the ass to remove. just stick with the tape, it should be good.

    If I am thinking about the same thing as you, what you refer as "black pads" are actually the PS2 chips (Integrated Circuits) which compose the motherboard. As long the modchip doesn't get high enough to touch the metal casing, it should be ok to place it over a chip which is not too high. I do that on V4s, placing the Matrix Infinity over the sound processor chip, which is close to the bios.
