    I'm trying to fix a broken unmodded PS2 v3?. (SCPH-30004 PAL, with GH-007 motherboard)

It looks like the PS2 works, eject/power works, it spins up CDs and DVDs.
But I got no picture or sound, but the TV switches to the correct input, so there must be some signal from the ps2.
I tested the fuses (might have missed some, but don't think so, is there any picture available showing where all the fuses are?
(I've tried both the standard AV cables and RGB, no difference)

I've checked all the fuses (looked at the fuse-picture for GH-006, looked almost the same)
    All of them was working.

Any other idea what could be wrong with it?

    I had

I tested each line of the flat cables, 1 line in the the cable between the motherboard and the daughterboard (or what's it called, the smaller board, where the switch/eject button-cable is connected to) was damaged and didn't work.
With some trouble I fixed that temporary.. and I got picture...

Next problem, the laser (KHS-400B) was broken (I mean broken, the plastic-PCB was split in two parts). I got a KHS-400C I put in there instead, I can see that the laser works and tries to focus. But it didn't manage to read the CD/DVD, didn't bother to finetune it though.
But is it possible the LA chip is broken also? or how does the PS2 behave if it is? or does this version even have this problem?

They're physically diferent. You will end with a broken flatcable though. A 400C laser will fit wonderfully in a V4 but won't work properly on anything earlier than it. Electronically, it works but the physical shape of the 400C laser will make the ribbon cable to bend and break at the outter edge of the mechanism.
