ok I got a couple questions regarding mod chip installs:

First off what exactly do I need in terms of equipment to do modchip installs?
and secondly where do I buy it? I'm seriouly having a hell of a time trying to find a 15w soldering iron with a .10mm tip. You can get 15w irons almost anywhere but tips that small are f-ing hard to come buy.

Anyways any help will be *greatly* apprieciated

    Thanks in advance!

you won't find the very small tips on the cheap soldering irons.
You have 2 choices depending on how many mods you plan on doing.
    1) Buy a cheap 15W iron and file down the tip to suit your needs. The cheap 15W irons are very inconsistent with heat output and filing down the tip greatly reduces its life. Cost $10-15
    2) buy a good iron that is temperature controlled rather than going for a low wattage. I use a 60W iron. It heats up in about 30 seconds but is temp. controlled so I have the tip set lower than what the junk 15W irons will be if you let them sit for a few minutes. I buy 1/100" tips and interchange then with bigger tips when I do xboxes. Cost $100 and up

where do you buy your soldering equipment? Is there a good site or anything you could recomend? I think I might just invest in a temp controlled soldering station, I'm sure it'd prove usefull.

Radioshack.com has the cheap irons. 15W for $8. This will probably do if u r only going to use it once or twice.

i bought my 15W-30W Radioshack iron about a year ago. I have modded probably 50 xboxs with it, and a couple PS2s. It will work, but the tip is annoying on it at most times.

through use the tip tends to get black sometimes w/solder stuck to it, you need to take some steel wool and clean the iron & tip. the tip size you can replace (w/most irons) in a variety of different sizes.

Really? I didn't think cheap $8 irons had differnet tip size. Would this iron have a small enough tip?
