    You have a dead battery it is common but if you set the clock and leave plunged in it will be fine and if you ever lose power just set clock again

    If it's really a dead battery... you could open the PS2 and replace it (But be sure that you can put it back properly!!).

    I think that it was a standard CR-2032 button cell... but it doesn't hurt to double-check!
