Killed my PS2 and Shocked the living shit out of myself
My PS2's rumble hasn't been working for a looong time (since I fixed my PS2's laser tilt) and I've let it slide until recently when I wanted to sell it. I know there's a fuse you can replace, and I also know that it can be a problem with the memory card/controller port. A friend of mine killed one of his PS2's and gave me the port today, so I took it home and took my PS2 apart.
I took my PS2 completely apart and went looking for the fuse I had to replace. The fuse seemed to be in tact, so I cleaned everything off, then replaced the controller port and the cable that goes to it. I ran to my room and grabbed a power cord. I came back to the kitchen and put the PS2 back in the bottom portion of the case but left the lid off in case I had to go back to fix something. I plugged it in and switched the power to on. Instead of going into standby, it immediately started up with a green light but the eject light was out. I turned the PS2 off hard from the back and then I flipped it back on. It was green again for a few seconds then went dead. I wondered if it was something to do with my nosolder modchip, so I lifted the PS2 out of the case by the CD drive. (Notice that I forgot to unplug it.) I flipped it over and checked to make sure everything was plugged in and that all the ribon cables were still intact.
Yeah, all of my the ribon cables were still intact. I flipped the PS2 over, then flipped it over again and starting to put it back in the bottom portion of the case. Unfortunately, before I could set it in the case, my thumb got poked. I instantly noticed my left hand tingling and starting to go numb. I couldn't do anything so I screamed then I realized that I could jump back. My right leg really hurt too so I lifted my pant leg up and here's the exit wound. A nice big scrape looking deal and a purple contusion. Great just great. I'm going to take it to my moms work tomorrow and ask the hardware guy to take a look at it, but I want to know if there's anything that I might be able to do before I waste the rest of my night watching TV.
