Hi I'm new to this forum and was hoping that somone can help me here.
Been doing a lot of reading but still cant find a definate answer.
I just installed a matrix infinity on my v14 and i also fitted the comsoft slimfix v4 which has v14 install diagram, but every one has said the v14 dont need a fix...
The ps2 is 1yr old and has run one ntsc orig since modding then i put a backup in that has caused the unit to shut down every time a dvd is played.
I'm guessing the fix is doing this so do i remove it as advised and turn the pot's down or what???
    Help please.....

Remove the Comsoft fix. V13/14/15 do NOT need the fix, only V12.
SCPH-7501 PSX - Basic chip, hole in case
    V7 PS2 - Broken, needs DVD drive
V13 PSTwo - XCM Crystal Clear Case (is it?), XenoPS installed
Version Unknown PS2 - Broken controller port, slight damage to case, To Be Repaired and Resold when it arrives
    XBOX V1.4 - X2 4983 TSOP Flashed

Thanks for that I was starting to come to that conclusion after asking about on different forums.
It's a bit naughty of the retailers/manufacturers to give the impression that the fix is required by giving version specific install diagrams for versions that dont need it.
Am i right thinking that the v14 has a built in muting circuit or a laser that can handle more over current/voltage???
And do i need to turn the pot down on the dvd laser like i have read or is that out of date now???
    Thanks...

No adjustment should be necessary, just remove the Comsoft fix. V13+ have their own circuit that deals with these problems.

Well i removed the comsoft fix but nthe laser is cooked still wont read dvd's so looks like its a new laser assy.
If my v14 does not have the pvr 802 in will one fit in with no problems or is the mount different?
I'm a bit annoyed that the slim fix did not do what it says on the tin, the ps is only 12 months old...
    Thanks for your help....

    Edit:
Is it just me or is the slim line a bad idea, you know laser lens exposed to kids fingers and such????

You're right, they shouldn't be posting installation diagrams if it really isn't required..!
