an idea for my blown ps9 fuse.
an idea for my blown ps9 fuse. –

okay so let me start off by saying that I already went through the trouble of testing my fuses once my games stopped showing up in OPL and HDDloader. I blew my ps9 fuse by plugging the hard drive into the computer (while it was on, IDIOT) and also stupid of me, I put the molex connector on backwards! so even more stupidly I put it back in the ps2 and BANG my ps9 fuse blows now I don't have a soldering iron capable of doing the repair at my disposal, and also can't get the motherboard detached from the heatsink unless I completely disregard any chance of repair and just rip it apart. So I got to thinking. I bought a new network adapter to make sure it was a fuse, so I have my old one to play around with. Now I took it apart and detached the power segment, since it is to my understanding that the ps9 fuse merely powers the hard drive and doesn't handle the data transfer. now i'm probably wrong because that doesn't even sound right reading it however if i replaced the power source to the hdd on the NA with an external one (one of those power to single molex guys they sell on ebay for like 5 bux) do you think it would temporarily get me to play some backups until I get the right tools to replace the fuse?
also my laser is shot so i'm not allowed to play discs
swapmagic barely loads
please respond i've been googling about this for like 3 days to no avail and searched the forums beforehand and it's making me really sad so pleaaaaaaaaase halp
TL;DR:can I replace my NA's power supply with an external one since my ps9 fuse is blown?
