Howdo you find the ps2 bios for a slim –
I am a noob and I have a Ps2 Slim spch- 90001 8c
cd player 2.00
playstation driver 2.00
dvd player 3.11u
I have search this forum and could not find the answerin any of the posts. I was wondering how to find out what bios my ps2 has.
What are the steps in finding out the bios.
I would greatly appreciate it if someone could tell me step by step also what are the tools required.
Do I need network, or usb cables.
Thanks to all in advance.
you must must have a method to start homebrew. do you have?
two very simple ways:
uLaunchELF should start then go on, MISC / Debug Info
there is information of their bios, a large number of which the first number indicates the version of the bios, how 02209FD..... is v2.20
or a program that extracts the bios and information for the usb device.:
extract and place the program on usb device, and the uLaunchELF
go to mass: / DUMPBIOS-MASS.ELF
expect to tie him to complete the extraction process.
I have downloaded fmcb for ps3 memory card adaptor from a need way to get free mcboot from the first post. I have an orginal ps3 sony memory card adaptor and 8mb sony ps2 memory card. I installed fmcb on the memory card but i'm not sure if it works.
Its the Free Mcboot 1.8c from jimmykimmel
The files on the memory card are as follows :
your system configuration 5kb
Free Mcboot 344kb
Free Mcboot 78kb
Free Mcboot 211kb
Boot Folder 517kb
SYS-Conf Folder 159 kb
Now the real question is do i have the right fmcb files on the memory card. Are there too many or are the too small.
Also when the free mcboot memory card is in the ps2 slim should it automaticly boot up.
Mine doesn't the only things that are shown are the Browser ans System Configuration when there is no disc in the ps2 slim.
mate, enable file extensions on your computer.... those 3 FMCB files will have different extensions and one will be the elf file the small one is prob a conf file but that is a guess......
if FMCB was installed correctly and it is not booting at power on then you most likely have bios 2.30 . date code 8c is the introduction of 2.30 only a very few had the older bios.
136 installs , last on 16-NOV-2013
PS2 50002 PAL Silver
+ Network Adaptor + 500 Gig
Hitachi IDE + FMCB 1.8b
PS2 79002 PAL
Slim Unmodded FMCB 1.8b
black CFW 6.60 B10 PhotoFast 5400 with 2 x 8 Gig micro SDHC
Thanks, I checked the files and they were elf and kelf files . By chance do you know how big the files are suppose to be . I though I reaad some where that all the fmcb files were a little bit over 3 mb. I am also trying to find out how big the files I extracted should be.
