thanks
which disks give more details please
i cant use discs because the laser dont read anything. i have already put a new laser in it but it dont read somethig.
1. i removed the old laser
2. put the new laser in the ps2
3. start lanschanger and changed the version
then i restarted the console but it dont read discs.
maybe the LA/BA chip dont work?!

maybe the laser need adjustment if you have no experience in ps2 hardware
and about the modchip no one can test for you because its a hardware .if you dont know how to solder then i suggest you get ride of and then start to Install FMCB
the ps2 is so how I have describe it. because the laser dont work I replaced it by a new one because I didnt want a self repaired(shit) laser.
I never used this m.chip, and because of that maybe there is an other way to find out if the chip work(for example an update through ELF; or some other sign to know if it work)?? I dont install the m.chip, it was a big company!
1 You won't find out that easily, what kind of chip (original or clone) you have, until (you're) looking at the PCB.
That info is necessary, if you want to run an Update-Elf in order to avoid destroying your chip [if it is a clone].
2. It sounds like your LA/BA-Chip is 'borked'.
press and hold circle and triangle while booting. u should get the infinity menu.
this doesnt prooves much though. other connections may be faulty.
also, holding R1 should boot into DEV1 mode. so put any homebrew app on memory card in a folder called BOOT (CAPS) rename the .elf to BOOT.ELF
if it boots, the matrix chip is working so far.
attached is a readme from firmware rev. 1.93 for the matrix infinity.
Dear god, i really hope u have genuine matrix chip, or else it will fk up the chip when CHANGING ANY settings in the matrix menu.
beware![]()
You changed the laser already? When you used lenschanger, did you use it to set your PS2's "laser type" to the correct type of your laser?i cant use discs because the laser dont read anything. i have already put a new laser in it but it dont read somethig.

Did your PS2 even attempt to read the disc? I heard somewhere (Can't remember where, or if it was really for FAT PS2s....) that there were some stock lasers that needed to have their potentiometers calibrated before the laser could read PS2 discs properly.
You're right about the LA/BA chip: They could be the cause too.

SP193s post remind me to something,...
There is an anti-static-point on these 'new' laser-units, which you must desolder.
@broodje
yes I tried out every button, but only the start button show reaction.
when pressing start on the controller: the ps2 logo appear fast
then on the screen it says: disabled
Matrix V1.0 and nothing happen.
the laser is from a ps2 which work perfectly, and dont need desolder anti-static-point?
And yes I changed the version PS2's "laser type" to the correct type (On the laser: khs 400c). I changed from hd7 to khs 400c.
And yes it is the original m.i.chip.
