I'm thinking of attemping my first ps2 mod (i've done a bunch of xbox mods) but I was wondering a few things based on what I've seen here... by the way V7 w/Matrix Infinity green dot.

    1. Whats the best method for holding the chip to the board when all done?
    2. If I wanted to buy more wire from radio shack, what would you recommend? My matrix came with some thin blue wires, but I've seen bigger wires on the 3.3 and grounds in pictures. I'm having trouble stripping the end of the wire though cuz its so tiny
    3. What size iron tip?

    Thats about it for now
    Thanks!

This is the wire size and type I'm talking about.

    Will that do?

I'd use a 22 gauge for power/ground. Stranded. However Solid is fine as well. You could even twist a few 30 gauge wires together and use that.

30 gauge is good for all the other points.
I'd use some electrical tape over the chip to hold it down.

1-5mm for tip size. I've done both 2mm and 5mm the 2 is easier, 1mm would be easiest. Radio shack has wire strippers get those. Make sure they do 30awg.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I finished the mod last night and put the main components back together to test and it booted to the Matrix logo, and then booted normally. Is this right? I didn't have a cd in it or a memcard with exploits.

I can't wait to get home, completely reassemble it, and test some more
