Last few days i heard a clicking noise, being i build computers i figured was either laser or the cd rom. At one point playing a wrestling game online it completely stopped reading the disc had to open and close the tray 4 times during the entrances per person to get thorough it, got real bad like rapid gun shot clicks. Today i switched games put in god of war no clicks at all played it for a bit switched back to my wrestling game and now the normal clicks. Did switching games help it somehow? i'm still going to replace the white arm and probably upgrade the laser. question to replace the dvd rom if it went bad could i use a Pc dvd rom? or is there a specific one for ps2's?

The disc might be scratched or dirty. If God of War is working then the PS2 must be fine ... GoW is a dual layer 9 gig DVD if I'm thinking of the right game. These discs are tricky to read and only a good PS2 can read 2 layer DVDs fine. If the wrestling game is scratched, toss it away as insist in it will blow the PS2.
