Fix broken PS2 buzzers?
Fix broken PS2 buzzers? –
I bought the PS2 Buzzers (the wired ones), but they were faulty (the shop refunded me since sending back to UK was very expensive for me).
Is there any way to fix them?
The problem: Three buttons (of five) of one of the buzzers just don't work, specifically, the red, blue and the green button.
What should I check?
I bought a set of these buzzers myself on ebay, described as faulty. So i knew what i was getting, unlike yourself.
But i bought them to see if i could fix them and get a good deal ; )
Well when i got them,i plugged them in and saw one buzzer just wouldn't work properly, all the rest were fine.
So i opened it up and saw the red led was burnt out.I then checked the tiny smd resistors on the pcb with my Dmm (multimeter). They were a little off,so i changed them and the red led in the big button.Put it all back together, plugged it in and its working fine now : )
Btw when you're going to change the red led, make sure you put it in the right way, otherwise it wont work.It doesn't matter which way round the resistors go in.
Hth ; )
Thank you shagster for answering.
What do you exactly mean by "They were a little off"?
Hi edea, what i mean is the resistor didn't display its original value on my digital mutimeter. Its a while since i did this so i dont remember exactly what i did it.But this is just a rough idea of what to check out.You prob just need to change the resistor that limits the current to the led and the burnt out led also.I think that it was the middle of the three resistors on the pcb,but you'd have to check that out for yourself, hth
