    Was wondering if all FAT ps2 model laser are interchangeable if anyone has done this I know my version has alot of read error issues because it was one of the 1st...

    no they are not. i know that v9/v10 are interchangeable but a v3 laser would not work in a v9. hope this helps

    Well ... Work they work...

    But you can't open the tray .... lol

    Basically some configurations are not possible for either mechanical or electrical reasons but the major problem is aways the mechanism.

    Newer consoles use smaller lasers.

    You might be able to fit a 400C type laser on a V4 PS2 (which use old type laser) because it's mechanical construction allow for that. But you won't have a 400C laser working for long on a V3 or older console because the flat cable will bend and eventually break as it keeps hitting on a portion of the drive body.
