I just installed a "Duo2 SE" in a version 7 ps2. Everything went great. I have installed a "matrix in a version 9" before successfully so im no amature. The ps2 acts the same as before I installed the "Duo2 SE". Ps2 Originals work and Ps1 originals work but my backups wont read.

    /My Question?/
Is there something I need to do to make the "Duo2 SE" activated? I remember I had to update the firmware on the Matrix Infinity I installed a long time ago.

The only thing I can think of to try is cleaning the lens with alcohol 91% but it reads originals so that might be a waste of time.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

your install will be bad, just because you fitted one chip and it worked once doesn't mean you aren't an amature, i've done around 40 now and i would still onsider myself an amature.

if its not booting your backups double check all points especially all the bios points and dvd points.

by not working do you mean rsod or its struggling to boot them??

there is no firmware to update on a duo se, its definately a duo se right, not a duo gt??

Yes its a Duo2 SE. Your right I am a amature at installing ps2 chips but I am a pro at xbox installs so my soldering is surgical.

I hate the fact that it might be my install.
I will look it over again. Thanks for the advice.

I just put in one of my movie backups on Maxell media and it worked. Maybe my backup is at fault. I dought it though it worked on 2 other ps2's.

a movie backup will work in a un modded ps2 anyway so that will not give you any indication of whether the chip is working.

if i you really think the install is good then if you have another chip install it with the same wires that you have installed to the board. if it still doesn't work then like i say i'd completely remove it and start again.

xbox chipping is a peice of piss m8, ps2's are 20 times harder, not just the installs but all the fault diagnosis (like this) that you have to go through
