    Hi,

My cousin got a v9 and from some time now DualShock 2 doesn't works, just joysticks from PS1/PSOne, I fixed his laser already (DVD laser) and all works fine now except DS2 joysticks.

It must be a blown fuse, which fuse it could be? I'm on exterior (other country) and not on my home, so I cannot check well since I don't travel with my tools.

    Can someone help me?

So basically the controllers don't vibrate? I had this happen to me. I think it was a PS7 or PS9 fuse that was blown. I just bridged it and its still working till today. Be sure to check the fuse before you bridge it.

Ei Gradius ! Tudo bem ?

Now for making this post useful for everyone I'll post in english...

The V9 PS2 is a special beast regarding it's controller port because it was the first model of PS2 with built in infrared port. For making that work a inique IC (chip) exists close to the controller port flat cable. On V10 and up that function was moved to the IOP itself. If that chip is malfunctioning it could be that it is disturbing the controller ports serial bus and that could cause the kind of problem you're describing.

Also, on the controller port connector board there's a bunch of ZENER DIODES that serve to the purpose of protecting the IOP pins. With crappy bootleg chinese controllers being so common here in Brazil it would not be a surprise to me if your controller port has a shorted zener diode and that's what is causing the problem.

Hope this is of help ...
