I can make the normal game boot, I just have to be patient beacuse the laser is a little old. Sometimes, cleaning it with some cotton works, sometimes, it doesn't. And it isn't the first time I thaught to change my PS2 back to it's original state.
PS: I don't know exactley where to glue the tape and what kind of tape.

should be the section in the middle that grabs into the disc , you just have to go with trial and error , on types of tapes and thickness

Actually I never thought of the chipset of the Firewire enclosure being an issue, so yet again thanks for letting me know :)
I will focus on getting a ps2 fat unmodded to use internal hd and ps2 slim , if there is any revision of these 2 that you think is much better , Id like to know :)
Will have the option to expand my area of search as I will probably be going to Asia atleast 1 time per year know (live in Europe)
