Discs not loading on SCPH-30002 GH-007 "Phat" PS2 (dead spindle motor?) –
I recently brought a used PS2, I wanted a SCPH-30002 model since they're built better than the later models. Anyway, it won't load any discs, pop them in and the PS2 acts like there's nothing even in there. No read error messages or anything like that. I'm suspecting the spindle motor, since it only moves the tiniest amount and I would have expected it would start spinning up so the laser can read it. If there was a problem with the laser, the spindle should still be spinning like mad right? The laser moves back and fourth as well as up and down, so it seems to be functioning.
I've checked the fuses, both the glass fuse on the PSU, as well as the F1, F2, PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4 and PS5 fuses on the mainboard. I may not know the theory behind electronics, but when I set my multimeter to 200 ohms, stick the positive and negative probes on each end of the fuse and get a response, I'm going to say that fuse hasn't blown So yeah, the fuses all seem OK, what would be my next step?
Just something came to mind will the motor spin properly when you turn it may be dirt or lockup of motor

Is how all good gaming systems came to be
It spins freely when I use my finger, so I don't think it's being physically restricted.
