While putting in a DMS4 Pro S.E., two of the copper VIA pads came off the motherboard and are now lost. Is there any way to fix this?

It sucked, because the first thing I started doing was trying to get the protective layer off then BAM...copper pad came off. "No Biggie," I thought. "I'll fix that later." I keep going, then BAM...another one comes off. I'm super-pissed at this point because I'm really not holding it on long enough to make them come off.

    Anyway, any tips?

So wait...I don't need those VIAs there? Like...they're totally gone. Holes in the mobo where they used to be. They don't need to be there?

Wow...hehe...uh...what if I kept trying to replace those empty holes with tiny bits of solder to connect the traces...and now the little holes are somewhat blackish\burntish looking....hopefully won't hurt anything, right?

    Yeah. *cough*

it should still be alright, if you turn the board over you will see the holes go through to the other side and then trace of to another ic, you can connect here, put a pin in the hole to touch where the via has burnt down to and then hold multimeter to pin now touch other end of multi meter to vias on oppisite side until you find the right one
    cheers

    Heh, thanks for the info.

I think I may just send off my chip and my V12 to someone to install it...I'm not sure if I want to deal with all this. :P
