    Hi,
Anyone got any ideas on what could cause this?
Most games work, but both Burnout Revenge & Driver Parallel Lines don't do anything with the controller - both ask questions at the start either to do with memory card or screen frequency and I can't move the 'cursor', hit X or anything - nothing works...

Other games - eg Micromachines v4, Lord of the Rings, Tekken 5. etc work.

What can be different in these games that don't work? How could they detect the controller? Any likelihood of a fuse blown and if so which one?

My PS2 = v12 + Matrix Infinity + Comsoft Slimfix + replaced PVR802 drive (was wide laser previously).

    Any ideas would be appreciated,

    Kev

do you use a original ps2 controller
because a PSX controller and some clones does not work on all games this has to do with Dual shock1 and Dualshock2 compatibility

    I'm using a sony dualshock 2 controller...
Maybe the controller has an issue..? I'll see if I can borrow another - only have one dualshock 2 and about 5 dualshock 1s..

    Thanks for the reply

    Will report back!

    Aarrgghh!!

Just realised that I know what the problem is...!

The controller is black, but it's an SCPH-1200 (DualShock) not an SCPH-10010 (DS2) !
Hadn't another controller to compare it with - looks like the guy I bought the PS2 off gave me a black PS1 controller!
    Oh well - hopefully I'll buy a DS2 controller this weekend - I guess some games need a DS2..?
How dumb do I feel?? Don't even try to guess!

    Kev

EDIT: so I actually have 5 grey DS1s and a black DS1... apologies mabcom for my stupidity
