no what he's talking about is the config screen of MI. he meant that everytime he boots his ps2 it takes him to MI config. i think what u need to do is change one of the options that says "boot mode" i believe, and in there u can select "auto detect, game, DVD, DEV01, MENU"(cant remember exactly... i think that urs is on MENU). change it to auto detect, and if that doesnt work change it to game. PS: DEV01 or DEV00 means memory card.
    my modding:
matrix infinity: on and off 6 times
external speakers /w leading wire: done
memory card LED (activity + connectivity): done
controller status LED change + vibration LED: done
    color-change lighting in v12: done
rgb to vga for monitors: FAILED due to not enough material
portable/internal LCD: sadly failed, as ps1 screen doesnt fit. planning same mod with intec screen
external harddisk for v12: CANCELED due to v12 breakdown
window for ps2 dvd-drive mod: in progress

thats what evelicloud said lol, boot your ps2 while holding circle and triangle.

Then u get in the menu, then u can change this to:

    BOOT MODE: AUTO
