comsoft slimfix v4 –
12-31-2006,07:49 PM
hello, I am attempting to install the comsoft slimline fix in my ps2, and once i got it installed, put it all back together and tried to boot it up (with no disc in it) the led on on the slimfix blinks twice and the system just shuts off. i even tried removing the laser assembly and i still get the same thing, but i started to desolder points on it and power it on after each one, and when i desolder the "J" point it works fine, it blinks twice and then it starts normally, but when i reconnect it, it will just do the same thing again. anyone know whats causing this?

make sure 'K' point is connected properly, otherwise the ps2 will shut it's self down(also check the track by L2 is properly cut)

it turns out you were right, i double checked the diagram and i was soldering to the point below where i was supposed to, I couldnt get the solder to stick to that point, so i just soldered it to the leg of the chip, which looks like thats where it was going anyways.
one more question, is the led supposed to blink like that when it's on?
Thanks a lot Predz, you just saved me smashing my ps2 against the wall.

Thanks for the info - just installed my first comsoft v4 fix (was using subzero before, no probems with it but this was quicker to source), was expecting a constant blue light not a flashing one.
