First of all i am new here so would like to say HELLOOOOO
down to my problem.
ok i bought a ps2 today, its used and was the first batch of ps2's to reach the uk when it came out (so the seller told me) and has never failed(warranty sticker still on back)
Because it was so old it was stuffed full of dust, so... i opened it up and blew it abit, wiped it abit and used a weak hoover from a distance from it.
Now when i put it all back together it didnt want to work.. all the ribbons have been tripple checked and are all in the sockets ok. i dont get any 'read disc error' message. just a 'reading disc' message and it never does load the disc. someone told me the disc alignment is probably out, if i load a disc with the lid off the disc was spinning normally, then after messing with it it just gave a sort of pulse spin.. 5 or so times then stops.....
appriciate it if any pro's can help me get it back working.
thanks

I'm currently having the same 'reading disc' error after replacing a motherboard on my V7. Have you tried media other then games? DVD, CD etc? Does everything leave you sitting at 'reading disc' or do somethings give you a 'read disc error'?
