My younger brothers have damaged the ps2 seriously.
When they were trying to play a backup with swap magic and slide tool they forgot to take the slide tool from right to the left (to lock the cd-tray). And they pushed the X button and nothing happened. Then they turned the ps2 off, and when i got home i realised that the cd-tray won't come out. Now the swap magic dvd disc is in the ps2. But when i push the tray button it comes out just some mm. And it is stuck so i can't use the slide tool to get it out more.
I hope that you awesome people out there can help me.
    thanks
    Tobias,Sweden
(maybe i have done some spelling problems, sorry for that inconviniance)

im not trying to jack your thread, but i think i have a similar problem. the ps2 ejects correctly, but when u push eject to bring it back in, it stop about a centimeter from closing. if you push it in from there it works fine. i am wondering if this is the same problem, and if cleaning would do the trick?

@ tblock, check the underside of the tray cos it sounds like u have a piece of the track missing, hence why u have to manually push it in the last bit.

I managed to fix the ps2 tray. I opened the ps2 and the white sort of hook(was visibele when i took of the plastic shelter sort of thing over the dvd-tray/dvd-player,and have pulled de tray all out) wasnt all to the left. I pushed it back, reasembled it. and pushed the tray button. and it WORKED! thanks a bundle jenko. You are my savior!(i didnt dare to open the ps2 first ,but when i got the info of how much a "errorsearch" cost i made up my mind) i have also thought about to buy a mod-chip instead, this is all to messy for me if it happens again.

@tblock, what version of PS2 do you have? I have a CD/DVD tray that's good from a V4. Compatible for sure up to a v7. Not compatible for sure with a v10.

    PM me if you're interested.
