Any fixes for PS2 90000 (v18) ?
Any fixes for PS2 90000 (v18) ? –
I'm going to perform my first modchip install (MI green dot) on a PS2 90000 (GH-070-42) and I was wondering if there are any fixes for it. I am asking this because I suppose there are some recommended fixes (apparently obligatory for v12 but I it seems recommended for v13 and higher) to extend the DVD laser or PS2's life-time, even for a v18...
What fixes do you advise me to make? Could you provide me details on what to buy and how to apply the fix?
nope.....no fixes needed for that really strong version ps2....she will accept that chip like nobody business...but use a mars pro instead....u won't regret it
That isn't really true! The laser fix was only needed for old PS2 slims(v12 and v13) because their lasers would burn out if the PS2 could not read the disc properly. (Some chip in the PS2 would burn the laser by raising it's voltage to high... and there were many "variants" of fixes).

My SCPH-77006 (v15) already did not need such a fix (Sony had corrected this issue since v14), so neither does your 9000x v18.
The only mod you'll most probably ever need is installing a mod-chip.
EDIT: ........ I didn't see that this was a reallllllyyyyy old thread........ oops... bump
Ummm....7700x is really a version 17....if it says "a" on the end it is an A type board, if it says B it is a version 18.....90001 is a version 19 and other version 90001 boards is version 20 up.

Please express yourself clearer, as it seems to me that you left out several SCPH codes that would be needed to correctly understand what you wanted to say about v17 and v18.

How I watch it...I watch it at board style (GH XX XX)
