    Hi guys.

So here it is. I have completely burnt the via and the resistor's solder pad(see picture). Quite a mess, I know.

    v12.gif

But (fortunately) it seems that the 'via' leads to the other side of the motherboard. But it is UNDER the RS2004fs IC.

Does anyone know where the via connects to "openly"? (i.e where I can solder an extension wire.)

    Thanks,
    manis404.

(Btw, this is a v13 board)

thanks for the reply. but i actually managed to find one myself...after getting a copy the service manual(i didn't had one before). A real gold mine of info i'd say.

The point is definitely not ground - but thanks for your effort anyways, MysTiCy.

I searched for resistor "R7224" in the service manual and located it in the schematic. Then I somehow deduced an alternative point by cross-referencing the schematic and the part placement diagram.
