hey guys... well ive been doing xbox's for quite some time now and i thought i'd give a ps2 a try. just a few simple questions for you before i begin...
oh and btw... any links to good tutorials or faq's will work as well...
whats a good simple chip i can use that gets the job done? i can soldier, but the fewer wires the better
i'm looking for a chip that allows me to backup my games to a harddrive... what drive do you suggest? do i need an external case?
how big is the average size ps2 game?
can you play online on your games that you've backed up?
is this mod simply a change in the machine's bios as xbox is?
i guess thats pretty much it... i suppose each chip has its own installs and such and for flashing as well... but any help is greatly appreciated to get this rolling lol thanks
Some good chips include the Matrix Infinity, Crystal Chip, DMS4. There are a few other good decent ones. Just read through the threads in the PS2 modchips forum here.
If you have an older fat PS2, you can install an internal HD if you connect it via a network adapter (sold separately).
You will need to patch the game to play online. You will need to use the network adapter to go online (if you have the fat PS2), so you can't play the game from the HD. There is no fee for online gameplay.
what about the slim ps2? hows the hard drive go on that? and you can play your backups online off the harddrive with the slim ps2? is this with any chip? thanks again
