Worth chipping a jpn ps2 with offical hard drive????

Need some advice, I've got a midnight blue jpn ps2 with offical hdd and network adaptor. I'm thinking of getting the dms ezi no solder mod chip for it. I had a us ps2 but sold it and have a few usa ps2 games left over.

I was looking for some opinions wether i should chip this machine, get a usa ps2 as well, or just sell this and get a chipped pal machine.

Also i've heard that the offical sony software conflicts with the chip, if i use it?

Any ideas?

I would not get a EZI chip because clips can cause problems. Well the matrix infinity or crystal chip works good. I heard a guy with a Ocean blue w/ official hdd has a matrix infinity and he likes it. I like it too. There are reports of the software not working right but you can turn the chip off or use fastboot mode which these chips have. If its a v9-v10 you should do the Romeo mod which all v9-v10 consoles need. If its a 029 board then you dont need to do it. I hope this helps.
