Won't recognise dvd-movies

After modding a V4 NoGap GH-010, it wont recognise dvd movies, not even originals.
Everything else works fine, so games on dvd both backup and originals works like a charme.
During the identification the laser makes a clicking noise and again only while trying to identify a dvd movie.
I removed the chip but the problem persists.

Anybody any ideas??

how long is it taking to recognise ps2 dvd, does it go to browser screen with spinning circle or does it boot before that, if it goes to browser first most likely laser if it boots ps2 dvd before browser then you may be able to adjust pots to get it to work.

Ps2 dvd is recognised directly without any hesitation, so before the browsing screen shows up.
