Wide Lens Do We Chip Or Not????

After reading of several threads, and having a few bad experiences myself with the wide lens, I wonder if the top mod men an or electrical wizards would spell it out whether they recommend chipping consoles or not, and with what protections.

So if it has a wide lens guys, do we chip or do we wait for a better fix..

modded or unmodded all v12 laser's are dying.

Summone fix (both resistors) last 24 day no one return....

everyones fix is killing PS2's do a search. Best bet is to not buy a PS2, Xbox or GC. They all have laser issues.

letsmod, wat u on about?? pstwo's r almost always fine if sumone's fix is installed and pic fix, infacted i havent had 1 return with these installed (but i dont get many ppl here wanting to hav a pstwo modded). gc lasers r fine, sure some u need to pot tweak if u mod it to play burnt discs, which will reduce the life of the laser but they last for ages anyway and wats wrong with xbox lasers???

I don't know what more i can do to make u UNDERSTAND!!!

ALL OF THE FIXES ARE TO SAVE THE LENS COILS not the DIODES due to the MECHANIC CRASH simptom!!!

the WIDE lens are DEFECTIVE ONE and can't stand the extra current flowing throgh it when using BURNED media!!!

my suggestion is ADDJUSTING the DVD POT to lower the current flow through it!!!

until now NOT EVEN ONE RUTURN of dead coil from all the pstwo i modifed with comsoft fix.

Comsoft I have to pottweak a pstwo today. It's a v12 with MI and the customer dropped it. It reads most discs but fails one the large ones that have data towards the edge of the disc.

When you mean you have to lower current flow- should I be I lowering or increasing the value I see across the pot? In my case how should it be adjusted? Not sure if a strong drop like that would even nudge a pot.
