I mean they throw then entire system, bypassing support and get another one. You don't read into posts much.

did they ever release a MARS chip with flashrom?
no....sorry.....it is only for backups, homebrew and any region games that is original.
yes it was released on may 2003....cause numerous consumers including installers was getting some problems with the ps2's newer titles to run on the action mars, when they released the 805 and 816...it made history that year cause it corrected alot of problems and some wiring diagram mistakes too.
but the SCPH number can give a clue as to what board is in the system.
Lets say for example, my v7. It has 3 common boards that can be in it. Mine is a GH-022, but it could also have a GH-017, or a GH-019.
Versoin 1 systems have a GH-004 and I'm not sure on the rest. At the very least, it can narrow down the possible results. That's why we watch numbers.
