White cog/defective v7???
White cog/defective v7??? –
I have a v7 with duo2se but even without the modchip the problem is the same. I believe it to be a refurbished model because of the sticker on the dvd player casing which has a date on it. This console is having trouble reading dvds and I diagnosed the problem with help of other posts in this forum so I tried adjusting the height adjustment white cog inside the dvd player. Dvd movies now work ok but ps2 backups still do not read correctly and boot success is about 5%. I tried every possible adjustment and believe that the console is defective because I see the laser moving towards the dvd motor and stuttering when it pushes in the little switch. Do you think that if I solder that swith a little closer to the motor the problem will be solved? it looks like it is crooked. IĀ“ll try to get a camera to take photos in the next post
removing the switch does not help
adusting a laser is a patience job and a lot of factor are important for good
Mostly i start with Cleaning a laser with Compressed Air
then i start playing with the Cog 2 clicks at the time
also i higher or lower the Azimuth a little bit
as last resource you can also adjust the laser pot a little bit
a Experienced ps2 modifier can Hear when the laser is to close or to far from the disk ,also he knows when a laser needs a little bit more juice
i should suggest that you check for a good console modifier and ask him of he is willing to adjust your laser
it is just a couple of minutes Job
