Any one connected scope to adjust dvd pot on v9? where is connection point?
you shouldnt have to adjust the laser on a v9 unit man
i only want to measure for reference vs older consoles!
Hi
I'm not sure if this is true on the V9 as I don't have a mainboard in front of me right now, but on all other versions it's true. On the front of the mainboard on the top left corner (just below the laser cable connector) there should be a chip with the number SP3727B (SP3727A for V4 and below). From what I can remember pin 1 is the CD siginal (around 800mVpp on a V7) and pin 64 is the DVD signal (around 600mVpp). I'm about 99% confident that they are the correct pins, but it could be around the other way, pin 64 = CD and pin 1 = DVD. Normally you can trace these pins back to some large test pads and solder a test wire onto them. Hope that helps and good luck
Acestes
@acestes, thx so much i found and measured on a v5 . On a v9 the same chip is present but its now revision D (SP3727D).
Is it the same two pins to measure on? The mainboard layout is totally diffenrent?
No problem. I have no idea if it's the same two pins to be honest, but I would say it probably is as revison A and B were the same (wonder what happened to revison C?). It would also make sense to keep the pins the same if you haven't changed the chip number, otherwise it could get confusing. Just give it a try, it's not like you can damge it by reading the signal. Are you sure it's a v9? Only I thought the boards look reasonably similar, now the v10 is really different!
Hi, 100% as i got 10pcits 50004 mx bios.ill try it.
Oh well I guess your idea of totally different isn't the same as mineLet me know how you get on. Thought you were probably correct, after all if you know how to use an oscilloscope you must be able to identify a PS2!
Ive seen layout of v10 and ok its not so totallyim sorry to answer such incorrectly
