what's the problem? –
hi i have a 30003R with messiah 1.
lately it's not been able to read ps1 and ps2 cd-r
haven't tested dvd-r lately
it runs import dvds original dvds ar2v2 and cd-r audios
it also runs pirate dvds and pirate ps1 cds (hk copy stuff)
is it the lens or is it the chip?
does it boot backups at all ? or once in awhile and is the booting sequence seem sluggish/slow ?
it used to be able to boot up back up cdr once in a while
but it's not even doing that anymore....
booting sluggish? i haven't really felt that...
laser is possibly on its way out - if that is the case you can adjust the pots on the laser to get that little bit more life out of the unit before having to replace it - but do this at your own risk as you will be increasing the power to the laser diode and this can reduce the diodes life a little depending on how much you adjust it.
But hey - if the laser wont play any copies at all reliably then it is on it's way out anyway... unless the chip has failed completely.
one thing i forgot to write...
when i give it a cd-r, it makes clicking noise as if it spins then suddenly stops and keeps repeating that
when i give a ps1 or ps2 cd-r then the clicking noise is quite loud but if i give a audio cd-r then the clicking noise is a lot more quieter and if ar2v2 is CD then when ar2v2 is being used it doesn't make any clicking noise... dvd has no probs whatsoever although i haven't tested dvd-r for several months
