whats a bios??

sorry for the dumb ass question im trying to learn and reading up on soldering but i was just wondering i read on a chip ver 3.0 for version ps2 1 that it wont work if its a bios 010...whats that is that the main chip? ive seen that name pop up alot in answers ect.

It's probably a magic 3.0. Messiah 2 is the best. Charlie_PS2 is the man when it comes to installing mods. He know's how to solder and does alot of testing of mod chips for the ps2. There are tutorials in the forums on how to solder. I recommand reading them thourghly.

die nummer steht auf dem bios chip drauf.

die 090 bios version ist die ganz neue v7 (v8?) konsole. sieht aus wie v7, hat aber nicht mehr das 080 bios, sondern die fiese 090 version.

welche produktnummer das auf dem karton ist, weiß ich nicht. bisher gibts die konsole nur als russische und asiatische version. da allerdings mit durchschlagendem erfolg, denn kein final chip geht mehr. das bios setzt zufällig mal ein paar signale und die chips reagieren -falsch- darauf.

Die Bios Versionsnummer fäng also immer mit B an.

B 20 020 ist ein 020 bios.

B20080 ist ein 080 bios.

Nicht durch die einzeln stehende Nummer verwirren lassen. Auf dem 080 bios chip steht z.b. eine 060 einzeln drauf. das ist die driver version (mit dem D vorn).

In fact the BIOS chip on the PS2 isn't a BIOS at all. It is the Boot ROM, common to all PC type systems - it contains code for doing whatever has to be done once electric power is supplied or RESET pressed to interrupt power.

ok thanks charlie u da man ibought my 15 watt iron the fine tip,i bought the 3 spools in a package from radio shack,got my rosin core solder,magnify glass,and solder cleaner,i just need to get paste.
