Here's my info.
Model # SCPH-30001R
NTSC
Serial: U4127431
PT241274314
Date Code: 2A
I believe this is a version 5 or 6
In your opinion, what's THE best no swap chip out there. I'm going to get it chipped. Price isn't really an object, reliability, stability and compatability is (I.e. has to work with the Network Adaptor, ps1 back-ups, etc.)
I'm thinking about getting one of the following chips installed...but each seems to have some problems (according to various sources)
Apple - weird boot-up screen, can't be used with network adaptor
Magic2 - chip's too big for case, makes movie playback choppy
Matrix2 - too early to tell
What's the best of this group, or for that matter any other no swap that comes to mind. Ideally, I'd like to play everything with little to no hastle, use the DVD player for movies (without skipping and wit the ability to record to VHS - Macrovision removed?) and avoid the use of patches. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I'm also looking for an installer in the Toronto, Canada region.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I don't believe there are any chips that currently support macro off. The fatality mod is the first to report that it will support region free and macro off shortly, but it is not released yet.

X0-2 is the best, I believe and it's not expensive, $54 shipped.
