Infinity for me.![]()
Buy MODBO v1.2( not 1.1). All you need to do is when you put on the modchip, make a memory exploit and put v1.40b firmware in your memory card, incase if you change setting to make the chip disabled, you can flash it back to normal. This chip much cheaper than MI, even it is clone, but it match the title " best overall". Support DEV, DVD+R DL, auto detect ps2/ps1/dvd.
Every SINGLE thing you said about this chip is WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Originally Posted by jpno1
DUO 2 SE are EXCELLENT value, and have a GREAT boot rate except for some V10 issues. They are the cheapest and by far easiest chip to install. They support Dual layer with toxic patch, Cheat loaders, and media player.
Deadpool66, I can tell from your post that you want a simple and reliable chip, the Duo2SE won?t let you down. Some of the people on here take great pride in having the most expensive, complicated, difficult installation chip with all kinds of unnecessary features? and that?s just great, for some people. Personally I would not pay 4 times as much for a complex chip that has feature I couldn?t care less about. I?ve been trying to figure out the reasoning for MC booting and exploits for ages now and I just don?t get what the big deal is about.
DUO2?s rule, if you can find em?, that is.
MI is the best for me
The best PS2 mod chip in the market is, DMS4 Pro, Matrix Infinity and Crystal Chip.
If just for normally play, DUO2 SE (V4-10) are recommand, since it is the cheapest modchip for PS2.
Duo's are cheap but are nowhere near the cheapest - I have bought chips from China for as as little as 2.2USD.Originally Posted by pstwomods
However, regardless of price the Duo2 is a rock solid performer - easy to install and with a near 100% boot rate - anyone saying different is either using a very cheap clone of it or has installed it poorly.

Also I trust 3.3v more than 5v. Personally, I think 5v will cause fail boot when there are too many things plug on ps2.
For Dvd DL, I am talking about the easier way to use them, not using any patch. If I have to patch the game so I can play it , can you say the chip support the game prefect ?!!
All we want to do here is just to help peoples, dont say someone is wrong like that , maybe you are not 100% right.
with the cost of dual layer disc being so expensive, it is better to get a harddrive to put the games that are to large to put onto a dvd onto the harddrive using the hd exploit, hd loader or advance. as for duo2se i have one in one of my ps2 and have never had any problems with it 100% boot rate for me. i also own a ps2 with matrix infinity and i like it but i don't use half the features on it (wasted money, but still happy with it). my friend got a subzero chip in his ps2 from N£TM£ÇH and i must say i am impressed with the chip so you might want to check that out. i'd say you go with what you feel suits your needs and stay the hell away from clone chips like the modbo, unless that is what you want.
I just don?t like to see misinformation. Why would you have concerns about the 5V line? I?ve never heard of any problems like that. The 5V regulators allow for plenty of current from USB ports and other devices, I?m sure Duo2?s power draw is practically undetectable. I?d actually have more concerns about drawing power off a 3.3v cap providing specific power to an IC chip and designed for nothing more. Not that I actually have any concerns about either.Originally Posted by jpno1
I?m considering trying some modbo?s but I have concerns about some issues that they seem to have. I don?t want something that customers will screw up and keep coming back with like the Xbox. Plus I can?t find them as cheap as Duo2SE. In fact I?m having a hell of a time finding a good price chip ANYWHERE now. I think I can still get 10 Duo2?s from Robopig for about $12 ea. But their shipping takes forever and I?d rather order in Canada.
What? What kinda shipping do you do at robotpig?Originally Posted by relaxxx
I live in Norway and get the chips arrive in norway about 36 hours after i place the order at Robotpig. That is slow?? The speed there is amazing. But i always do EMS though.
