Im a Messiah 2 Pro fan all the way. THey've been around a long time and have been very good to me and all of my instals. They are a few bucks more that the other chips out there, but not unreasonable in any way. If youre going to go with a mod chip, theres no reason you cant spend $35 on it.
I get mine from FoundMy.com Hes a great distributer with great prices and fast shipping. Check out the vendor section for his ref's.
Ive heared good things about the MXL2 chip too, but havent tried one myself.

What are some clones or just bad chips to avoid? I live the US so I need a relible online store to buy my chip from. A web site that has good prices and doesnt sell clones. Also I deciding between a Magic V or a Messiah 2 (im not sure whats the lastest firmware is, I thought it was 1.31 but im not sure.) I was going for a Magic V for its price and its features.

Yes - You can't go past a DUO for simple installation and reliability + price in a V5/6 - one of the best game booting chips available.
Obviously if you want extra features go the DMS.
