Whatever happened to the "upgraded" PS2???

Anyone find out whatever happened to the "upgraded" PS2 NTSC that was supposed to have a better laser lens, quieter fan, network adapter, built in sensor for remolte, and DVD progressive scanning??

I saw where Best Buy advertised them last week or so but never got them. They just had the unit with the network adapter included.

Anyone heard anything?

Ok, I got the info according to Electronic Gaming Monthly.

The model with the infared sensor and remote and quieter fan will be released in the fall. The model right now that is bundled with the network adapter is a 39001/N and it's just a V7 that comes with the network adapter. So north america has some time before this model is released.

I got a newspaper article that says it will be released in July, and also will have the ability to read recordable and re-writable DVDs AND CDs and all that stuff that MackIII said

Was that a quote from Sony in that newspaper or was it an electronics or toy store?

It said $ony announced it at The Electronic Entertainment Expo last month.....It also speaks of the Playstation pocket

Yeah, they announced it and had stores advertising it but it did not show up yet.

The "PSX" Will be a dvd burner/ps2 thingy. Don't get it mixed up with the one the first poster is tallking about.
