What Wires???

I have recently odered a modchip - Magic 3 for my version 7 - 39003.

I am going to install this chip myself into the PS2. This is going to be my first time modding one. There are 22 soldering points I have to do.

What wire do I use to connect the points to together with the modchip?

Could you give me as much detail as you can about the type of wire for it, so I could purchase it.

These questions have been covered 1000's of times...

Use 30awg kynar for all points except v3.3 and ground, for which you should use 22awg kynar.

There are alternatives, search and see.

Do you know where i can purchase these wires on the internet cheap for uk?

Google for it man! try 30 awg kynar or 33 swg (not sure about that one).

There are some UK chip suppliers that also supply tools for the job that appear in the searches.

what if you use 30 awg all around? whats the advantage of using 22 on the 3.3 and ground?
Also, if the wires don't stick I read in another thread to scrape the enamel off. Anyone know what that is?

There's too much resistance in thin wires for 3.3v and ground.

Enamel is the laquer (sp?) like substance that covers and protects the tracks on the whole board. You need to scrape it off to reveal bare metal.
Using flux can help with this and will also clean the metal so that the new solder sticks to it properly.

Mind you, a dms3 has a flashable bios which is why it requires a good 3.3 supply and as short a ground wire as possible.
Non-flashable chips are less demanding.

I have found some kaynar wires on this website. Will this be good to connect the modchip together?
So far I only found 30 awg kynar, but no sign of 22 awg yet!!?? does anyone know where i can get this?
