What are the V7 PS2?

well you could get a magic 3.1 if u r tight on budget it costs $20 USD and installion from anyone on this board is like $50

If you do have an older model, I would suggest you save up for a new modded console or buy a decent one at a good price. I recently sold my V5 for $200 modded and this console was a solid unit with lots of life left in it. V4 and older are geting up there in age and sometimes they just dont have the strength to read DVDRs.

Actualy, I read somewhere that V7 and above have double reading or something with the GS, so I wanted to make sure mine was below that so I would know if that was the problem.

Also, could anyone possibly just tell me what the problem is? is it that the PS2 is opening up the tray automaticly. Also, I have about 10 dollers, so I dont think I will be buying a modded PS2 anytime soon.

Thanks for the help guys, but I am still wondering what the problem is with it not loading CD-Rs, I know the trick does not work with DVD-R's, so I thought you would just assume I meant CD-Rs.

I tried a little diffrent method and still meant with failure:

I started up the GS, took the knife on the sucker to get the tray opened, took the GS 2 disk out, put the IMBNES disk in, shot the thing back in. Then, I moved the pin just a tiny bit to the right so the tray could not open up when I clicked on start game, but the blue light sticked flickerd so I assumed it did what it was not suppose to do, and it said cannot load disk

I have a version 7 PS2 aka SCPH-39001 model. I have 2 GameShark 2's a original one and a version 2 one. I use the swap disc method and have no problem doing that. I get to the start game with out codes menu and select that. then i swap the disc and hit X to load it. I am trying to load the PS2 Reality Player version 1.50. The disc spins and then spins really fast and thats it, it stops spinning and it hasint loaded. Any awnsers why or solutions would be greatly appriciated.

I just bought the Action Replay MAX and have tried it out also it still doesnt work is there any way to get it to work?
