What software & setting for burning DVD backup?

I wanna know? Coz i just burn a DVD-R copy and my Ps2 can recognise it but it just hang at the start screen, i mean just black.

you can use

RecordNowDVD
DVD X Copy Xpress
Nero

It also may be a media issue
I have used record now max 4.5 for over 1 year.
make a global image (.gi)
then burn the image.
