What should I do? –
02-01-2005,07:09 PM
I have an old ps2, heh, a very old one. I have the SCPH-30001. My PS2 causes too many problems nowadays and I kinda want to replace it. It's never been opened or modded or anything. The problems it has is the laser "burns" perfect rings into my games and sometimes ruins them. The controllers randomly don't work sometimes forcing me to replug them in or jiggle the head of the cord around.
What I would like to know is what should I do? Get a new pstwo which is what is available nowadays or find someone to replace the parts? I kinda want to mod my ps2 too. But let's keep it simple. Two scenarios.
#1: If I don't care about modding or whatever and just want a normal console... should I replace parts in old version or buy a pstwo (slim).
#2: If I wanted to mod a ps2 should I stick with old ps2 and replace parts and mod or get a pstwo and deal with all the nasty problems and pay someone to install a fix, etc.
Thanks in advance.

Buy a pstwo and sell that ps2.
