what is the new ps2 version???

hi everyone great forum, i need help if i should get a new ps2 or not. i have a ps2 v6 or v7 i think that i purchase almost two years ago new and still working fine with no problem. Now i want to mod it with either a dms3 or messiah chip, but shoud i get a new ps2 instead and then mod it with a dms3 chip what is the new ps2 version now. or mods my old ps2 v7 and save the money for repair when it start to break down. thanks

why not mod ur v6 or v7 with a duo chip... i just recently mod my ps2 and its a v4, im happy, even if it only last a year or 2.
I figure by that time. sony will release a ps3.
