I want the best playability, and I've heard different opinions with the different versions, so which should I get? I can get a benQ DVD+R really cheap, and a Memorex DVD-R fairly cheap aswell. But my main question is which format should I use on my ps2?

Most people will agree that DVD-R works better for PS2 systems from v1-v7, and I have found that DVD+R also does work, however not as good as DVD-R. Furthurmore, v9+ seem to work well with both. Hope this helps.

BenQ is the worst shite ever. Stay away from it!

Good brands are verbatim, mitsui (NOT mitsuMi), traxdata.

DVD-R is all V7 and lower are supposed to play. DVD+R is a maybe.

You'll be lucky if your laser is still strong enough to read any dvd media. Stick to Verbatim DVD-R

Well stay away from memorex go with ritek. You can get ritek dvd-r at http://www.meritline.com/. TDK is what I use you can get it at compusa. I use the 2x DVD-R at 1x and it works ok. I hope this helps.
