what do u guys think i should do v4 problems

v4 magic 3.2 form modchip.ca (so called 3.2 from them) and a new lazer in it. First the ps2 & mod was working good all games was working and about 2 weeks later the damm games only work sometimes now only in about 3 out of 15 backup dvd games work. I use a cd cleaner (sometimes that thing skips or doesnt work ). Dvd-r that i am use is tdk 2x (they work good on my v7 magic v) and verbatim. Do u think i should adjust the lazer or fist try more diffrent dvd-r or ????????????.

The magic 3.2? (never heard of it) that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. It just means it was quickly replaced

The older magic's did not have an intergrated BIOS. That mean it would "corrupt" the BIOS for only a set amount of time. (To the best of my understanding)

The new magic's do have an intergrated BIOS whitch means there always looking for back-up game.

What does this mean to you? watch the load time, if you can see "fireflies" (browser screen) you might be in trouble.

Adjusting the laser is NOT easy or recommended. It could be the type of media so I would try a different batch first.

Watch what games do boot. What region are they from?
It might be a lose wire on the install (it happens) and now it only boots games from said region.

And remember V4 (in my experiance) are the most picky

GOt rid of that dino and get a new(er) ps2. AT least a V5.

EVen if you get a new laser for the older versions, that doesnt mean they are going to last longer than a new version would.

Just cut your losses short and get another, newer console.

V4 are not that bad compare to the V1-V3 i have moded many V4 and most of the laser are good if you use good media like TDK or ritek...are you sure yuo got a new laser in that V4? or maybe they just cleaned it for you...its very hard to imaging that a new laser died in 2 weeks...try to use a better media and try again. make sure you burn them slow. Magic 3.1/3.2 do a fine job if you installed right. unless the laser is dead(does not even read originals) there is really no reason to buy a new one.

It reads originals good. I had a pro from new age put in the chip & lazer.
