What controls eject mechanism to make it so fast??

I cannot install this Apple Mod successfully I have done a Neo 4 with 45 wires and it worked first time. Now, I have the mod and the tray still ejects fast. I am returning this one today for exchange, but does anyone know what makes the tray eject so fast. I don't see solder bridges. Regardless, now I ordered a Magic 3 and the clip. If anyone wants, I have an Apple 39001 V7 and 30001 V1 for sale for a great price!

Voltage usually does that (he says unconvincingly). I take it this is the v7.
Can you tell us more about the problem. The Apple shouldn't make the tray shoot out at all. The EJECT button does that. Is the tray shooting out fast on that? Are cables snagged? Have you damaged any capacitors or resistors.
Iz the Z wire in the right place and not on the one next to it (which would be tray_open)?

Charlie, this is a version 7. The chip is out now and it is still doing it. Nothing is snagged or anything either. I am at a loss. It did this once while the chip was in. Then I got it to work but no picture or anything. I never had installation issues like this before. The point are so big on the Version 7 too. Anyhow, what is the Z wire, there is none labeled that way on the Apple. Thanks for help. I will exchange this one today and I ordered a Magic 3 with the clip

Hi I am experiencing a similar problem with the tray ejecting at mach 3. Details I know are as follows:
Machine is a 39001 V7
Mod that was installed was a Magic 3.1 (which is now removed)
Swapped Drives to verify, same problem so its mainboard.
I am quite confident that there are no bridges no splashes and no little soldery balls. ( checked with a magnify glass so Im pretty sure thats not it.)
Originals play still and everything else seems normal?
I am assuming the eject mechanism is getting too much voltage I tried to trace it out but I am not exactly an EE. Is it possible that the problem could be a resistor capacitor, regulator that is pooched something other than an IC? Any info as to where I might look into would be apprecited if it is at all worth it.. I would love to know how this could have happened thx!

it is repairable yes the ba ic would need replacing but this is not the only thing that causes this problem it can also be a short on the cd/dvd controller points this is directly connected to the ba ic.EnTiTy

ba chip –

well i took a look again in and around the cd/dvd controller and still see nothing odd.. the ba chip you are referring to i would assume to be the one nearest the resest, eject , and cd/dvd ribbon cables connect to the mainboard? well last question if replacing is needed how does one find that chip without ripping one from another mainboard?
