what is the cause

of the no disk error? I found countless ps2 on the net for dirt cheap and most where the same version scph 30001 R as the parts I have. Some say that it started reading this, some say that the console is broken and it says this. What is the cause of this? These are not modded ones either. Thanks.

Faulty Drives, Exccessive Playback, BA chip burnt, (UNLIKELY) etc.

or even the laser is dirty i bought a few ps2 from ebay and all i had to do is clean the eye.

yeah...those "BAD" ps2 on ebay seems to be deemed broken but if you read the discription, it actually tells you that they have the "disk read error" systom. This much be good for you guys who can fix ps2 system, huh?! since all can just replacement/clean the dirty parts.
