Weird V10/DMS Problem –
After doing the install I had no vid, so i started backing out of the install. It was when I removed "I" and "D" that the machine booted into normal mode. I have checked the solder it all looks fine on the pads and the chip. Also this is not my first install. Things usually go well. Does this sound like a bad chip?
It sounds like a flawed install.
Wire I is not that sensitive.. it's D an E that are tricky wires, and if you say after you removed the D wire, it all came to life, that's where you should take a look.
Reroute those two particular wires so that they don't cross any other wires or groundwrap them (two wires, wound together like UTP twisted pair, one wire connected to ground at both ends and other one from solderpoint to chip)
Maybe take a further look here or at DMS3 forum for more info on this.
